A common misconception about interior shutters is that they block views and darken the space. While this can be true for some traditional styles, Elite’s shutters can be built in a contemporary style. This style features larger louvers – such as 3 ½” or 4 ½” [link to galleries] – and a clear view without a tilt rod (called Rear Tilt or Hidden Tilt). Custom Drapery

Finally, these clients chose a softer design in their primary bedroom and formal living room with custom drapery.

The primary bedroom (below) features functional drapery and Lutron roller shades. The drapery softens the room, adds texture and color, and blacks out the room when drawn. The Lutron shades maintain the lake view throughout the day, or buffer the sun when needed.

The formal living room (below) features decorative stationary panels flanking the doorway, creating softness and texture. This option works well in areas where privacy or light control are not critical, and the goal is simply style:
