DOWEL CONSTRUCTION FOR EXCEPTIONAL STRENGTH
Extra heavy-duty hardwood dowels are used for the joinery of our stiles and rails. Much longer and thicker than the industry standard, our hardwood dowel design allows for maximum glue surface area to withstand shear and racking stress. In fact, our custom interior shutters are built so strong they will never come apart at the joints, and we guarantee it for the shutter’s life.
GLUE COATED GALVANIZED STEEL STAPLES
One of the most common problems with shutters is a staple failure. We use extra-long galvanized steel staples in the louvers and tilt-rods to ensure they do not pull out. The staples are glue coated and heat frictionized, which assures that the staples will last the shutter’s life.
MORTISED HINGES
Mortised hinges are very important to achieve the tightest possible fit within your window opening. Without a mortised panel, a gap appears on the hinged side that allows significant light between the panel and the frame. Solid steel construction and a powder-coated finish are key elements of a high-quality hinge and come standard on every Elite Shutter interior shutter.
